The only meeting this fall between two unbeaten Massachusetts prep teams ended without a goal. Dexter Southfield and Austin Preparatory School played to a 0-0 draw at Austin Prep on Wednesday, and both are still without a loss in Mass Pitch results.

Dexter Southfield is now 5-0-1. It has scored 24 goals and allowed one, with shutouts in five of its six games. Austin Prep, the Vaillancourt Conference leader, is 4-0-3, and the draw was its third clean sheet in a row. The result matters beyond the standings. Dexter Southfield is Class B and Austin Prep is Class A, and the 2026 NEPSGSA handbook tells selection committees to weigh strength of schedule, including games against higher classes.

How Dexter Southfield got to 5-0-1

Dexter Southfield opened with a 5-0 home win over Ethel Walker on Sept. 16, then beat Pingree 3-0 on Sept. 18, Rivers 7-0 on Sept. 23 and Brewster Academy 3-0 on Oct. 3. On Oct. 9 it went to Dana Hall and won 6-1. That's the only goal it has allowed. Wednesday's draw at Austin Prep was its first result that wasn't a win.

In the NEPSAC Independent table, which counts every game on our site, Dexter Southfield is second on 16 points behind Phillips Academy Andover, which is 6-1-0 with 18 points. Andover has played one more game. Dexter Southfield has the better goal difference, +23 to +11. Next up for Dexter Southfield is Saturday at Worcester Academy (game page), another Class A opponent.

Austin Prep leads the Vaillancourt Conference at 4-0-3 with 15 points. Its scored results include a 0-0 draw with Milton on Sept. 16, a 5-0 win over Thayer, a 3-2 win over Northfield Mount Hermon, a 1-1 draw with Miss Porter's, a 1-0 win over Andover on Oct. 7 a 2-0 win at Nobles on Oct. 10 and Wednesday's 0-0 draw with Dexter Southfield. It hosts Worcester Academy on Monday (game 29154).

Some earlier games on both schedules still have no final on our site, so these records are what Mass Pitch has confirmed, not a full season ledger.

The ISL race: Lawrence still first, Milton two points back

On the same day, the Independent School League moved. Lawrence Academy beat Tabor Academy 3-1 at home on Wednesday. Jade Jones, who plays club for FC Stars Blue ECNL G10, Tyler Martens, who plays club for FC Stars Blue ECNL G08/07, and Addison Blanchette, who plays club for FC Stars Blue ECNL G12, each scored for Lawrence, per confirmed game stats.

Lawrence is 8-1-0 with 34 goals scored and five allowed (+29) and leads the ISL with 24 points. Its only loss in our results is Monday's 1-0 defeat at Milton. Lawrence is Class B and was a Class B quarterfinalist in 2025. It visits The Governors Academy on Saturday (game 29014).

Milton Academy answered Wednesday with a 4-1 win at St. Paul's in Concord, N.H. Milton is 7-2-1 (21–8, +13) and second in the ISL with 22 points, two behind Lawrence. It is Class A. The Mustangs play Friday at Buckingham Browne & Nichols (game 28928).

Thayer (6-2-0, 18 points) remains third in the ISL table. The race at the top is still Lawrence's to lose, but Milton's head-to-head win and Wednesday's road result keep the pressure on.

Pingree leads the EIL

The Pingree School sits alone atop the Eastern Independent League at 7-2-0 with 21 points. It has scored 43 goals and allowed 12 (+31). Dana Hall is second at 5-4-0 with 15 points.

Pingree's recent scored results include an 8-0 win at Bancroft on Oct. 2, a 2-4 loss at Andover on Oct. 5, a 9-0 win at Lexington Christian on Oct. 7 and an 8-0 home win over Winsor on Oct. 9. On Wednesday it beat Phillips Academy Exeter 2-1 at home. Pingree is Class B and hosts Concord Academy on Oct. 24.

Dexter Southfield already beat Pingree 3-0 on Sept. 18, one of the early markers of Dexter's start.

What's next toward Nov. 15

Thursday, Oct. 15, is the deadline for NEPSAC girls soccer tournament applications, per the 2026 NEPSGSA Coaches' Handbook. Selection committee meetings are Saturday, Nov. 14. Seeds are announced Sunday, Nov. 15. Quarterfinals are Wednesday, Nov. 18, semifinals Saturday, Nov. 21, and all four finals Sunday, Nov. 22, at The Rivers School in Weston — Class B and D at 11 a.m., Class A and C at 1 p.m.

Each class is an eight-team bracket. Committees weigh overall record, record in class, record against tournament-eligible teams, head-to-head and strength of schedule, using varsity NEPSAC prep games only. That is why a Class B team taking on Class A opponents — Dexter Southfield at Austin Prep this week, at Worcester Academy on Saturday — shows up in the handbook's selection language.

For a full conference view, start at the NEPSAC standings hub. We will update as late finals post and as the regular season closes on the road to Nov. 15.
