Medfield (No. 1, Division 3) beat Medway 6-2 on Wednesday to go 12-0. The Warriors take the field each game with five players who already know where they're playing in college. All five are Division I commits, which is more than any other MIAA program in our database. Coach Melinda Lohan confirmed the list to The Mass Pitch on Oct. 16.
They aren't the only contender with a college-bound core. Across the MIAA's top teams, 28 players in the classes of 2027 and 2028 have committed, and 21 of them to Division I programs. They're headed everywhere from Worcester to Gainesville. A few clear patterns run through the list.
Senior forward Sidney Heavey of Scorpions SC is committed to Central Florida. A returning All-American, she has 14 goals and two assists this fall. Senior co-captain Audrey Grandinetti, who plays for NEFC, is headed to Quinnipiac. Lyla Manning (Class of 2027) is committed to Lehigh.
The next wave is already locked in. Junior forward Devon Weafer of FC Stars, who scored the winner in last year's Division 3 final, is committed to Florida. Junior Somer Higgins, also with FC Stars, committed to Colgate on Oct. 13.
Last year's title team also sent two Class of 2026 graduates to Division I: Elizabeth George to Fairfield and Emily Hoffman to High Point.
Medfield plays at Millis on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and hosts Ashland on Monday.
Concord-Carlisle (No. 5, Division 1) has four committed seniors, all from FC Stars. The headliner is Emmy O'Donnell, committed to Duke and the reigning Gatorade Massachusetts Player of the Year. Catherine Kilmartin is staying home at Boston College.
The other two show that the Division III route is a strong one too: Ainsley Siefer is headed to Middlebury and Teagan Graham to Union.
No team on this list shows the full range of the college game like Grafton (No. 7, Division 2). Its four committed seniors are headed to four different colleges across three NCAA divisions:
Norwell (No. 4, Division 3) has four committed juniors. Hannah Morse and Kelsey Tuttle, both from Select, are headed to Davidson and Louisville. Mairin Blake is committed to Bryant.
Ally Kelley is committed to Union, where she will play soccer and lacrosse. According to coach Rob Williams, she will be the first female athlete at Union to play both sports.
Hingham (No. 4, Division 2) has three committed seniors. Taylor Bello is committed to UConn. Hannah Lasch, who plays for Select, is headed to Holy Cross. Chloe Mankes, also with Select, is going to Bowdoin, in Division III. Coach April Tremante confirmed the list.
Four more contenders each have two commits, and every one of those eight players is headed to Division I.
