NEPSAC girls soccer standings (Oct. 13): Lawrence leads the ISL as tournament season approaches

Milton Academy handed Lawrence Academy its first loss but Lawrence still leads the ISL, Pingree tops the EIL on goal difference, and Austin Prep and Dexter Southfield are unbeaten. NEPSAC's 2026 tournament dates are still to be announced.

Lawrence Academy is still on top of the ISL, but the gap shrank on Monday. Milton Academy beat Lawrence 1-0 at home on Oct. 12, Lawrence's first loss of the season, and now sits two points back at 6-2-1. Lawrence (7-1-0, 21 points) still has the best goal difference in the league at +27 (31 scored, 4 allowed), and Thayer Academy is one point behind Milton.

With the NEPSAC tournament a few weeks away, here is where the Massachusetts contenders stand in every major conference table on The Mass Pitch, from the NEPSAC standings hub.

What we know about the tournament: NEPSAC has not announced its 2026 girls soccer tournament dates. The championship is four classes (A, B, C and D), each an eight-team bracket picked by coaches' committees. NEPSAC does not publish a weekly power ranking, and this article does not make one. Last year, seeds came out Saturday, Nov. 8, and the finals were Sunday, Nov. 16, at Deerfield Academy. The NEPSAC tournament page has the 2025 brackets for reference. They are not a 2026 seed list.

How to read the tables: records are every game on The Mass Pitch this season, sorted by points (3 for a win, 1 for a tie), then goal difference, then goals for, the same order as our conference pages.

ISL: Lawrence and Milton at the top

1. Lawrence Academy: 7-1-0, 21 points, +27
2. Milton Academy: 6-2-1, 19 points, +10
3. Thayer Academy: 6-2-0, 18 points, +16
4. St. George's School (R.I.): 5-2-1, 16 points, +15
5. Brooks School: 5-3-0, 15 points, +5

Before the Milton loss, Lawrence won 4-0 at Middlesex on Oct. 7 and 2-0 over St. George's on Oct. 10. Milton has won three in a row: 5-1 at Groton, 1-0 at Phillips Exeter and 1-0 over Lawrence. Thayer won 3-0 at Brooks on Oct. 7, then lost 3-2 to Tabor on Oct. 10. Tabor Academy and Middlesex School are next at 14 points.

EIL: Pingree ahead on goal difference

1. The Pingree School: 5-2-0, 15 points, +14
2. Dana Hall School: 5-4-0, 15 points, +1
3. Portsmouth Abbey School (R.I.): 1-1-0, 3 points, +2
4. Concord Academy: 1-3-0, 3 points, -7

Pingree and Dana Hall are tied on points, and Pingree leads on goal difference. Pingree beat Winsor 8-0 on Oct. 9. Dana Hall beat Berwick 1-0 on Oct. 7 and lost 6-1 to Dexter Southfield on Oct. 9. Several EIL schools have few or no results on our site yet, so this table is thin below the top two.

Vaillancourt: Austin Prep unbeaten

1. Austin Preparatory School: 4-0-2, 14 points, +9
2. Worcester Academy: 4-2-0, 12 points, +6

Austin Prep won both of its games last week, 1-0 over Phillips Academy Andover on Oct. 7 and 2-0 at Noble & Greenough on Oct. 10. Worcester Academy beat Choate 3-0 on Oct. 7 and lost 1-0 to Loomis Chaffee on Oct. 10. The Vaillancourt table has six schools.

Independents: Andover on points, Dexter Southfield perfect

1. Phillips Academy Andover: 6-1-0, 18 points, +11
2. Dexter Southfield: 5-0-0, 15 points, +23
3. Phillips Academy Exeter (N.H.): 4-3-1, 13 points, +8

Andover's only loss is the 1-0 game at Austin Prep. It beat Pingree 4-2 on Oct. 5 and won 3-0 at Choate on Oct. 10. Dexter Southfield has allowed one goal in five games. The full table is on the Independent page.

Founders: Taft perfect

The Founders League is mostly Connecticut schools. The Taft School (Conn.) is 7-0-0 and has allowed one goal. Deerfield Academy, the only Massachusetts school in that table, is 3-4-1 with 10 points.
