If the MIAA girls soccer tournament started today, Bishop Feehan (No. 1, Division 1), Duxbury (No. 1, Division 2), Medfield (No. 1, Division 3), Douglas (No. 1, Division 4) and Granby (No. 1, Division 5) would be the top seeds, and 48 play-in games would decide the last spots in the five fields.
This is a projection, not the official bracket. Based on the official MIAA power rankings as of Oct. 13. It changes every Tuesday and Friday. The official bracket comes out Nov. 5.
How the field works: the top 32 teams in each division's MIAA power rankings qualify no matter their record. Teams ranked No. 33 or lower get a preliminary (play-in) game only if they are .500 or better (wins at least equal to losses; ties do not count against them). Play-in teams are seeded in ranking order behind the top 32, and the pairings add up to 65: the 32nd seed hosts the 33rd seed, the 31st hosts the 34th, and so on. Because losing-record teams drop out, a play-in team's projected seed can be different from its MIAA rank. Below, "No." always means the official MIAA power rank; where a team's projected seed is different, it is listed as "seed."
Every division's full projected bracket is on its page on the MIAA tournament hub, and the full tables are on our rankings page.
